Symptoms

When you attempt to install Microsoft Active Server Pages (ASP), the following error message appears during installation:
Incorrectly registered, run 'regsvr32.exe' to register.
This error message can appear multiple times. You may also see error messages similar to the following:
Adding ODBC DSN entry for ADVWORKS.
-or-
Adding ODBC DSN entry for ADOsamples.
After you install ASP, some FrontPage database features may no longer work correctly. For example, when you view the Database Results Region in a Web browser, the following error message appears:
Microsoft VBScript runtime error '800a01b6'.
Object doesn't support this property or method: 'fp_rs.State'
/_fpclass/fpdbrgn1.inc, line 181.
Or, the Database Results Region may simply return no records when you view a page that contains a query and that you know should return records.

In addition, the Saved Fields tab of the Save to Database form field handler is unable to obtain a list of fields in the target database.

These problems do not occur if you clear the ODBC 3.0, ADO, and OLE DB check box when you install ASP.
