Summary

This article describes how to configure FrontPage to work with an HTML editor other than FrontPage.

NOTE: If you configure FrontPage to use another editor, you will not be able to use the FrontPage Components or FrontPage Image Maps.

Configure FrontPage to Work with Another HTML Editor

1.In FrontPage, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the Configure Editors tab.
2.Select the file type you want to use a different editor for (for example: HTML) and then click Modify.
3.In the Modify Editor Association dialog box, type the name of the editor and the command line needed to run the editor, and then click OK.

NOTE: There are multiple types in the Configure Editors dialog box. You will need to repeat this step for each type you want to alter in the list.
4.Click OK.
NOTE: When using some editors, you may need to re-import the edited file into your FrontPage web after your editing is completed.
