Error Message: Internet Explorer Script Error

Symptoms

When you click "1 Take a Quick Tour" in the Welcome - Microsoft Internet Explorer window, or when you load a Web page that uses filters to transition an object from a visible state to a hidden state (such as a Channel page), you may receive the following error message:
Internet Explorer Script Error An error has occurred in the script on this page. Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?
If you click Yes, the tour starts, but the tour text is not visible.

Cause

This error message can occur if you have configured Windows to use the 16-color palette.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, change the Color Palette setting to 256 Color or a higher setting. To change the Color Palette setting, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Display.
  2. Click the Settings tab.
  3. In the Color Palette box, click 256 Color or a higher setting.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Restart your computer when you are prompted.
