The NET PRINT command may cause an internal error

Symptoms

When you use the NET PRINT command to view printers on a Windows NT-based computer, one the following errors may appear, depending on the version of Windows that is being used:
An internal Windows NT error occurred.

An internal Windows 2000 error occurred.

An internal Windows error occurred.

System error 59 has occurred. System error 8 has occurred.

System error 8 has occurred.

Cause

This error occurs if there are print jobs currently spooled on the printer being referenced. The number of print jobs needed to produce the error varies.

Status

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Windows operating system. The NET PRINT command is being discontinued.
