Error message when you restart Outlook after you log off Windows without exiting Communicator 2007: "A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems"


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 and Microsoft Office Communicator 2007 running on the same computer.
  • You close Outlook 2007.
  • You log off Windows without exiting Office Communicator 2007.
When you restart Outlook, you may receive an error message that resembles the following:
A data file did not close properly the last time it was used and is being checked for problems. Performance might be affected while the check is in progress.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, install the Communicator 2007 update package that is dated October 24, 2008.
