FIX: You may receive an exception error message when you serialize an ObjRef object between the client computer and the server computer after you install the MS07-040 update on only the client computer


Symptoms

Consider the following scenario. You install the MS07-040 update on only the client computer of a client/server pair. Then, in an application that is built on the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1, you serialize an ObjRef object between the client computer and the server computer. In this scenario, you may receive the following exception error message:
System.Runtime.Serialization.SerializationException: Type missing for member of type Object '_ContextID'.

Cause

This problem occurs because the serialization code is changed after you apply the MS07-040 update.
