Event ID 55 may be logged in the System log when you create many files on an NTFS partition on a Windows Server 2003-based or Windows XP-based computer

On a Windows Server 2003-based or Windows XP-based computer, an NTFS file system partition was formatted by using an allocation unit size (cluster size) that is smaller than 4,096 bytes. When you create many files on this partition, event ID 55 may be logged in the System log:Note To determine the allocation unit size, type chkdsk.exe volume: at a command prompt, where volume is the drive letter of the volume. The allocation unit size appears to the left of bytes in each allocation unit.

For example, when you run Chkdsk.exe in read-only mode on a system drive, you receive results that resemble the following:
