Symptoms

When you assign one or more tasks to another user in the Activities - Microsoft CRM pane, Microsoft Office Outlook stops responding. This problem occurs in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM laptop client for Microsoft Office Outlook. Additionally, the Confirm assignment - Web Page Dialog dialog box does not close as expected when you click OK.

Steps to reproduce the problem

  1. Start Outlook.
  2. Expand Microsoft CRM, expand Workplace, expand My Work, and then click Activities.
  3. In the Activities - Microsoft CRM pane, click a task, and then click Assign.
  4. In the Confirm Assignment - Web Page Dialog dialog box, click the lookup button.
  5. In the Look Up Records - Web Page Dialog dialog box, click a user, and then click OK.
  6. In the Confirm Assignment - Web Page Dialog dialog box, click OK.
This problem does not occur if you follow these steps:
  1. Open the record of the task that you want to assign to another user.
  2. To assign the task to another user, click Assign on the Actions menu.
