FIX: "Exception code: 0xe0434352" error when you apply a cumulative update to a BizTalk server

Symptoms

When you try to install a cumulative update to a BizTalk Server, the installation is unsuccessful, and you receive the following exception:
Faulting application name: BtsDeploySystemAssemblyTask.exe
Exception code: 0xe0434352

Cause

This issue occurs when one of the following conditions is true:
  • You apply the cumulative update on a server that has only the MQSAgent role installed.
  • You apply the cumulative update on a server that has BizTalk Server installed but not configured.
