Improvements and fixes

  • Translates some terms in multiple languages to make sure that the meaning is accurate.
  • Changes interfaces from Apps to Add-Ins and from Add-Ins to COM Add-Ins in Outlook 2013.
  • Enables a new SharePoint Online feature that lets SharePoint Online administrators revoke sessions of a user in their tenant, and the only way for the user to reopen and save files to SharePoint Online is to sign in again.
  • Fixes the following issues:

    • When you exit Office 2013 applications, Office 2013 applications may crash.
    • When you save an image that contains transparency in a document in an Office 2013 application, the image is corrupted and is displayed as a black box.
    • In Office 2013 applications, accounts that are signed in don't work as expected for roaming users.
    • Microsoft Office Upload Center crashes intermittently.
    • When you open Outlook 2013 that has an Exchange account set on a computer that's joined to a domain, you receive repeatedly prompt for credentials. This issue occurs if the domain of the Exchange account is different with the computer domain.
    • When you try to save a workbook that has an unregistered ActiveX control in Excel 2013, Excel 2013 may crash.
    • Third-party MAPI applications can't authenticate when modern authentication is enabled on the applications. After you apply this update, modern authentication is disabled for third-party applications but enabled for Microsoft Office 2013 applications, third-party applications can still authenticate by using other authentication protocols.
    • In some cases, the license state or enabled features of Office 2013 applications may be incorrect if Office 2013 and Office 2016 are both installed on the computer.
    • When you try to start an Office 2013 application in Windows 7 compatibility mode on a Windows 8 or a later version of Windows-based computer, you receive a message that looks something like:
A repair from control panel is needed.
    • In PowerPoint 2013, the Start screen and File New screen don't show all online themes that are available. After you install this update, online themes that are missing from the Start screen and File New screen will be detected and downloaded automatically. It may take one day for the missing themes to appear again.
