September 8, 2015, update for Outlook 2013 (KB3085495)

• Translations of some terms were changed in multiple languages to make sure the accuracy of the meaning.
  
• Fixes the following issues:
  • Outlook 2013 generates artificial timeouts if it expects that the server responds too early. Outlook 2013 doesn't honor the X-PendingPeriod header field that's specified for MAPI/HTTP requests.
    
  • Third-party add-ins can't change or add attachments to RTF email messages during the BeforeAttachmentAdd event.
    
  • When the Save method of an item is called in the AppointmentItem.Write event handler in Outlook 2013, Outlook 2013 crashes.
    
  • Outlook 2013 in MAPI/HTTP mode now handles redirect responses from Exchange so that the client continues to use the new path for all later requests until the tunnel is restarted.
    
  • You can't use the Item.Delete or Item.Move method to delete or move an email message that was created from server-side search result emails in Outlook 2013.
    
  • When you try to forward an instance of a recurring meeting that has an attachment in Outlook 2013, you receive the following error message:
    Cannot send this item. The operation failed.
  • Corruption errors of offline Outlook data files (.ost) aren't written to event logs for Outlook 2013.
    
  • After you create a profile in Outlook 2013, the Safe Lists Only setting in Junk E-mail options is reset for all profiles for the same mailbox.
    
  • When you try to send an email message as another user in Outlook 2013, you receive a non-delivery report (NDR) that contains the following nondescript error message if you don't have the Send As permission:
    This message could not be sent. Try sending the message again later, or contact your network administrator. Error is [0x80070005-00000000-00000000].
    You should receive an error message that looks something like this in the NDR:
    You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so.
  • When you try to move a draft email message from a mailbox to another mailbox in Outlook 2013, you receive the following error message:
    Sorry, something went wrong. You may want to try again.
  • Assume that you send a workbook as an attachment by using the Send as Attachment function in Microsoft Excel 2013. Then, you insert an Outlook item to the email message in Outlook in online mode. When you try to send the email message, Excel 2013 stops responding.
    
  • When you try to use an earlier version of .ost data of a mailbox by using the Use Old Data function in disaster recovery mode in Outlook 2013, you receive the following error message:
    Cannot start Microsoft Outlook. Cannot open the Outlook window. The set of folders cannot be opened. The attempt to log on to Microsoft Exchange has failed.
  • Assume that you have configured an Office 365 account in Outlook 2013. When you try to open another shared mailbox, you receive the following error message, or you are repeatedly prompted to enter the credentials:
    Unable to expand folder.
  • Assume that you select the Related button in the Editing section on the ribbon in Outlook 2013. When you select the "Messages in this Conversation" option in an email message, Outlook 2013 crashes.
    
  • When you try to open or save an attachment that has a long file name in an email message in Outlook 2013, Outlook 2013 crashes.
    
  • When you change the protocol between the MAPI over HTTP protocol and the RPC protocol in Outlook 2013, the primary mailbox isn't displayed.
    
  • Out-of-Office request times out if there are many Out-of-Office requests in Outlook 2013.

  • Assume that you convert an email message (.msg) file from the RTF format to the HTML format and edit the email message in Outlook 2013. After you send the email message, the edits of the email message are lost.
