Additional space is added to 8-byte IMS Transaction Program name in Host Integration Server 2010

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You are running a Transaction Integrator IMS application that uses an 8-character Transaction Program name.
  • The Conversational Program property of the TI method that you're using is set to TRUE.
In this scenario, an additional, blank (0x’40’) character is added to the Transaction Program name.

This issue occurs because of inconsistent name handling.

Resolution

Microsoft Host Integration Server 2010

Workaround

To work around this problem, set the Conversational Program property of the TI method that you're using to FALSE. Then, a correct 8-byte Transaction Program name is used.
