Windows activation does not work when the sppsvc.exe process is not started automatically for a long time

Cause

This issue occurs because the Task Scheduler does not correctly trigger events including the rescheduling of events when the computer is started after an overdue task. Therefore, the Software Protection Platform service (sppsvc.exe) does not start.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, we have released an update for Window 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2. Before you install this update, check out the prerequisites.
