Symptoms

Assume that you use a network printer through a TCP/IP port to print documents on a client computer that is running Windows 8.1, Windows RT 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1), or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. When the first print job is finished in this scenario, you cannot print any other documents.

Cause

The issue occurs because the client computer does not send a FIN packet to the print server after the first print job is finished. Therefore the print server does not recognize whether the print job has finished. In this scenario, the print server waits for several minutes, sends an RST packet to the client server and then cancels the print job.
