SystemSettings.exe process crashes when you add a VPN connection on a Windows RT 8.1 or Windows 8.1-based computer

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have a computer that is running Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, or Windows Server 2012 R2.
  • You set the screen resolution in a high display resolution (such as 2560 x 1440).
  • You try to add a VPN connection.
In this scenario, when you touch the Connection name field, the SystemSettings.exe process crashes.

Resolution
