Connectivity lost between two nodes when a node reconnects to a Windows Server 2012 R2-based cluster

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You have two cluster nodes that are running on a Windows Server 2012 R2-based cluster.
  • You change the network adapter settings on the cluster.
  • Then a node loses connectivity to the cluster.
  • You reconnect the node to the cluster before the cluster finishes regrouping.
In this scenario, the regrouping on the cluster cannot be finished, and the connectivity and log messages between the two nodes are lost.

Resolution
