Files under SharePoint path cannot be copied to another computer by using a Robocopy command in Windows 8.1 or Windows 8

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:

  • You deploy computers to Windows RT 8.1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows RT, Windows 8, or Windows Server 2012.
  • You try to copy the directory trees to the deployed computers by using the following command:
    Robocopy "Source"  "Destination" /E /R:2 /S /MIR
  • The directory trees contain SharePoint paths.
In this scenario, files under the SharePoint related paths cannot be copied.

Resolution
