Incorrect emoticons in a conversation after you install Office 2013 SP1 or a later version of Lync 2013

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Assume that you have Microsoft Office 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) that is dated February 2014 or a later version of Lync 2013 installed. A user sends you one of the following "Whisper" emoticons:
  • :*
  • :-*
  • :=*

In this situation, you receive a "Red lips" emoticon in the conversation window. Additionally, if the user sends you "(woi)", you will receive a "Let’s meet" emoticon instead of the "Working on it" emoticon in earlier versions of Lync 2013.

Note After you install Office 2013 SP1, the version of Lync 2013 will be 15.0.4569.1503.
