Introduction

This security update resolves vulnerabilities in Microsoft Office that could allow remote code execution if an attacker convinces a user to open or preview a specially crafted Microsoft Word file in an affected version of Office.

Improvements and fixes

This update also contains fixes for the following nonsecurity issues:

Assume that you add local network files to the Recent files list in Word 2010 by using the RecentFiles.Add method. When you try to open the files, you may receive the following error message:
This file could not be found.
After you disable the macros in all documents that are opened by previously enabled macros, you unexpectedly receive the following message in Word 2010:
The macros in this project are disabled.
