The Group Policy Management Console does not generate a status report for a domain

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you click Detect Now on the Status tab in the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC), you receive the following error message:

No Infrastructure Status information exists for this domain.

Cause

The XML that is used to generate the report may contain the ampersand (&) character. For example, the file path may contain "Documents & Settings".

The XML parsing engine expects "&amp" in stead of "&". As a result, it does not parse and generate the report.
