Error message when you click "Pause download" to pause the download process of a Windows Store app in Windows 8 or Windows RT

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install update 2871389 on a Windows 8 or Windows RT-based computer.
  • You download an app from the Windows Store.
  • You select the app on the Installs page, and then you click Pause download.
In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

This app was not installed - View Details

When you click the error message, you receive the following error message:

Something happened and this app couldn’t be installed. Please try again. Error code 0x80004004.

Note When you click Retry, the download process resumes.
