Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You deploy a Front-end server in a server pool in a Microsoft Lync Server 2010 environment.
  • There is a file store (file store 1) in Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder.
  • You deploy a new Front-end server in a new server pool in the environment.
  • You create a new file store (file store 2) in Lync Server 2010 Topology Builder, and then a new topology is created. File store 2 is located on the same server as file store 1.
  • You publish the new topology.
  • You run the following command in Lync Server 2010 Management Shell:
    Get-CsService -FileStore | fl UncPath
In this scenario, the Fully Qualified Domain Name (FQDN) of the server is not displayed in the path of file store 2. Instead, a GUID is displayed in the path.
