Additional Korean character is displayed in the name of a disk drive in Windows 8

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a computer that is running a Korean version of Windows 8.
  • You rename a disk drive.
  • You open the Optimize Drives tool.
In this scenario, the Korean character "개" is displayed unexpectedly in the name of the disk drive in the Optimize Drives window.
