FIX: "Too many data elements" error when you receive an EDI X12 997 message in BizTalk Server 2010

Symptoms

Assume that you receive an Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) X12 997 functional acknowledgement message in a Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 environment. The message is in the HIPAA 5010 standard and contains an ST03 element. In this situation, you receive an error message that resembles the following:
Error: 1 (Field level error)
SegmentID: ST
Position in TS: 1
Data Element ID: ST02
Position in Segment: 2
Data Value:
3: Too many data elements

Cause

This issue occurs because the ST03 element definition is missing from the 5010 version of the EDI X12 997 schema.
