INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • When you click a button to run a macro to protect or unprotect some worksheets in a workbook in Excel 2013, the sheet focus changes instead of staying on the sheet that contains the button.
  • Assume that you create a workbook that contains links to external workbooks that are not stored on your own computer. When you open the workbook, it takes longer than expected.
  • Assume that you set two passwords for a range in a Microsoft Excel 2010 workbook. When you use one of the passwords to unlock the range, the range is not unlocked and you receive the following error message:
The password you supplied is not correct. Verify that the CAPS LOCK key is off and be sure to use the correct capitalization.
  • Assume that you create a workbook that contains links to external workbook in Excel 2013, and the external workbook requires a password to be opened for editing. When you open the external workbook as read-only, the links to the external workbook may become corrupted.
  • Assume that you insert an Excel worksheet object that contains one or more ActiveX controls in run mode to another Office application. When you activate and deactivate the Excel object, Excel 2013 crashes.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You set the Taskbar buttons value to Always combine, hide labels in the taskbar properties.
    • You create a workbook that contains a WorkbookBeforeClose event to prevent closing the workbook.
    • You select Close all windows on the taskbar to close grouped workbooks.
    • You cancel the close operation from a dialog or prompt that is displayed in the WorkbookBeforeClose event.
In this situation, the workbook is still closed.
  • Fixes a crash that can occur if you have applied the KB 2837666 update for the PowerPivot add-in.
