Can't dismiss error message when you view an image by using Windows Photo Viewer in Windows 8

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You view a read-only image by using Windows Photo Viewer on a Windows 8-based device.
  • You make some changes to the image. For example, you use the touch function to rotate the image.
  • You try to view to the next image by using the pan gesture, and then you receive an error message that resembles the following:
    Windows Photo Viewer can't save changes to this picture. Verify that the picture is not set to read-only and make sure you have permission to save to the file location, and then try again.
  • You try to dismiss the error message by tapping OK or Close.
In this scenario, you cannot dismiss the error message.

This issue occurs because a related function does not check whether the image file is read-only when the function is called.
