Registry information

Important
Follow the steps in this section carefully. Serious problems might occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Before you modify it, back up the registry for restoration in case problems occur.


Active Clipboard that executes many functionality during copy and paste operations is integrated in Microsoft Office 2010. After you install this hotfix package, you can follow these steps to turn off Active Clipboard completely:

  1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then click OK.
  2. Locate and then select the following registry subkey:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\General\
  3. On the Edit menu, point to New, and then click DWORD Value.
  4. Type AcbControl, and then press Enter.
  5. In the Details pane, right-click AcbControl, and then click Modify.
  6. In the Value data box, type 2147483648, and then click OK.
  7. Exit Registry Editor.
