INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a workbook in Excel 2010.
    • The workbook contains CheckBox form controls that have a defined name that refers to a cell link.
    • You close the workbook, and keep Excel 2010 open.
In this scenario, Excel 2010 crashes.
  • Assume that you create an Excel 2010 workbook in a Microsoft SharePoint 2010 library that has a workflow for the library. You change something in the workbook, and then you try to save it again. In this situation, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'FileURL'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being used by another program. The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
  • Assume that you use a macro to set the border properties of some cells without setting the border color in Excel 2010. You change the border settings by running the macro several times. In this situation, a run-time error occurs. Additionally, you cannot open the Format Cells dialog box for these cells.
  • When you insert an Encapsulated PostScript (EPS) image by using the Insert and Link option, the image is not embedded.

Note After you apply this hotfix, the EPS image will be converted to a supported format before it is embedded.
  • Right-clicking to export a webpage to Excel does not work in Internet Explorer 9 or a later version.
