FIX: ".NET Framework" or "500" error when you access an application that was published by Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 SP2


Symptoms

Assume that an application is published by using Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway 2010 Service Pack 2 (SP2). However, when you try to access the application, a .NET Framework error or a 500 error is returned.

Cause

This problem occurs when the application's URL contains a greater-than (>) or less-than (<) character.

Resolution

To resolve this problem, apply the service pack that is described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:
