A country-specific update is available for SEPA credit transfer for generic, Netherlands and Belgium in Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 and Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 Service Pack 1

The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is an area set up by the European Commission in which all electronic payments are considered domestic, regardless of the country/region in which the individual, business or organization, and bank are located. Within this area, there is to be no difference between national and cross-border payments. The SEPA includes the 27 European Union (EU) member states, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and Monaco. The SEPA helps form a single market for payment transactions within the European Economic Area (EEA). Ultimately, the SEPA is expected to reduce the number of payment formats that banks, businesses, and individuals must work with.

Support for legacy, domestic credit transfer will stop and the SEPA credit transfer will be the only accepted format by the banks.

The SEPA credit transfer payment format is implemented by using the payment methods functionality in Microsoft Dynamics AX. This update provides the SEPA export file format for generic, Netherlands and Belgium. These export formats follow the SEPA ISO 20022 XML standard that is specified in version 6.0 of the SEPA Credit Transfer Scheme Rulebook that the EPC releases.

There are no changes in the functionality. Users need only to define the corresponding new export file format in the "Methods of Payment" screen in Microsoft Dynamics AX.
