View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

When you use Transaction Integrator (TI) to communicate with Information Management System (IMS) transactions on an IBM mainframe system in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2009 or Host Integration Server 2010, you may receive the following error message:
Event ID: 102

Source: HIS Application Integration

Description:

HISETBG0001 Application Integrator has intercepted an exception in method MethodName. Following is the exception description: (2138) HISMITW0021 The IMSConnectTransport received no data when an LLZZ was expected while processing method MethodName. IP Address: TCP/IP address, port: port number, Transaction Id: tranid, Error description: Success.

Cause

This issue occurs when TI communicates with IMS transactions on an IBM mainframe over TCP/IP by using an IMS Connect remote environment. In this scenario, TI expects a completion status message (CSM) to be sent from IMS transactions, and the CSM should contain response data from the host application. The CSM includes a header and a footer that contain the string *CSMOKY*. If the CSM footer is split across two TCP/IP network packets, the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section may occur.
