Presence status on certain Lync 2010 mobile clients is updated to "Inactive" instead of "Away" after 5 minutes in the idle state

Summary

This article describes an update for Microsoft Lync Server 2010 Mobility Service. After you apply this update, the Lync server sets the Lync 2010 mobile client to an Away state that includes an Inactive token after the client is idle for 5 minutes. In this situation, clients that respect the Inactive token display "Inactive," and clients that do not respect the Inactive token display "Away."

Resolution

To obtain this new feature, apply the following update:
2708617 Description of the cumulative update for Lync Server 2010, Mobility Service: June 2012
Note To enable this update, the environment administrator must install the updates that are described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) articles on the client, as appropriate to the device that is deployed in your environment:
2721077 An update is available to enable Lync 2010 for iPad and Lync 2010 for iPhone to display the Inactive presence status after 5 minutes in an idle state

2717011  An update is available to enable Lync 2010 for Android to display the Inactive presence status after 5 minutes in an idle state
