An access violation occurs on a domain controller that is running Windows Server 2008 R2

When a stack overflow occurs on a domain controller that is running Windows Server 2008 R2, an access violation occurs. Additionally, the domain controller may break into the debugger and go offline.

This issue occurs because of a race condition between the time-out of DFS site cost caches and of the DFS site caches.

To resolve this issue in Windows Server 2008 R2, install the following hotfix.
