This update adds more definitions to the Junk Email Filter in Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. These definitions evaluate whether an unread email message should be treated as a junk email message. This update was released on July 10, 2012.

  1. Click Start, and then click Computer.
  2. In the Search Computer box, typeOutlfltr.dat, and then press Enter.
  3. Right-click Outlfltr.dat, and then click Properties.
  4. On the General tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that is installed on the computer.
Windows Vista
  1. Click StartStart Button , and then click Search.
  2. Click Advanced Search.
  3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.
  4. In the Name box, type
    Outlfltr.dat, and then click
    Search.
  5. In the list of files, right-click
    Outlfltr.dat, and then click
    Properties.
  6. On the General tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that is installed on the computer.
Windows XP
  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, click
    Start, and then click Search.

    Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.
  2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Outlfltr.dat, and then click
    Search.
  4. In the list of files, right-click
    Outlfltr.dat, and then click
    Properties.
  5. On the General tab and on the
    Version tab, note the properties of the Outlfltr.dat file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update

  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type Appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running.
    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista
      1. Click View installed updates.
      2. In the list of updates, click update 2687310, and then click Uninstall.
    • Windows XP
      1. Click to select the Show updates check box.
      2. In the list of updates, click update 2687310, and then click Remove.
