Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 does not report SQL Server 2008 R2 in the "License 01D" report after you install SQL Server 2008 R2 SP1

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You install SQL Server 2008 R2 on a server that belongs to a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 Service Pack 2 (SP2)-based site.
  • You enable the Asset Intelligence feature and the Inventory feature by using the Configuration Manager Administrator console.
  • You install the Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 client on the server.
  • You run a Hardware Inventory action on the site and inspect the "License 01D" License Ledger report.
  • The License Ledger report reports that SQL Server 2008 R2 is installed on the server.
  • You install SQL Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on the server.
  • You run a Hardware Inventory action on the site again and inspect the "License 01D" License Ledger report.
In this scenario, the License Ledger report no longer reports that SQL Server 2008 R2 is installed on the server.

Resolution

The following hotfix package resolves the issue in the site server role of System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2.

To resolve this issue, install the following hotfix package on the primary System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 site server.

Note The following hotfix package can be installed on a System Center Configuration Manager 2007 SP2 site server that is running an x86-based version of an operating system or an x64-based version of an operating system:
