FIX: DefaultAppPool may crash when you try to install Forefront UAG Service Pack 1 Update 1

View products that this article applies to.

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a server that is running Microsoft Forefront Unified Access Gateway (UAG) 2010 in an array that uses Network Load Balancing (NLB).
  • You try to install Forefront UAG Service Pack 1 Update 1 on the server.

In this scenario, when you select the array manager under Nodes in Array Monitor, the default application pool (DefaultAppPool) crashes.

Cause

This issue occurs because the Forefront UAG array expects a certain parameter response from the array nodes when the array is enabled in Array Monitor. When this issue occurs, a NULL pointer is passed as a parameter because of a problem in the logic, and an exception occurs.
