Inaccurate reports about unauthorized users of the federation feature in Lync Server 2010

Symptoms

Assume that you deploy a Monitoring server in a Microsoft Lync Server 2010 environment. In this situation, the Monitoring server reports about the users who are not authorized for the federation feature are inaccurate.

Cause

This issue occurs because the ErrorCategory catalog under the To User not authorized for Federation ReasonString catalog is not set to the ExpectedFailure value. Instead, the catalog is set to the UnexpectedFailure value. The ErrorCategory catalog is in the dbo.MsDiagMetaData table that is located under the LcsCDR database.

Note The information about the ErrorCategory catalog is located in the dbo.ErrorCategory table that under the LcsCDR database.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following cumulative update:
