FIX: SNA Manager returns the following error when you try to change the properties of an IP-DLC Host system connection: "DLUS connection should not have associated remote APPC LUs"

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You are using dependent local Advanced Program-to-Program Communications (APPC) logical units (LUs).
  • You have followed the steps in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to assign Remote APPC LUs to an IP-DLC "Host system" connection: 
    939193 How to set up the connection and the logical units for an APPC application when you use the IP-DLC link service in Host Integration Server together with dependent APPC logical units
If you try to change the connection properties for the Host system connection that has Remote APPC LUs assigned to it, SNA Manager returns the following error: 
Microsoft SNA

DLUS connection should not have associated remote APPC LUs
The same error message is returned if you try to update the Host system connection by using the SNACFG command-line configuration tool.

Cause

This issue occurs when the Host Integration Server management components perform a check whether there are any Remote APPC LUs assigned to Host system connections that use the IP-DLC link service. If there are Remote APPC LUs assigned to an IP-DLC Host system connection, the error is returned.

Resolution

Host Integration Server 2009

The hotfix that resolves this issue will be included in cumulative update package 2 for Host Integration Server 2009.
