INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a SharePoint list that contains an ItemUpdating event receiver on a SharePoint site.
  • The event receiver cancels an update and displays a custom error message.
  • You create a link to the SharePoint list in an Access 2010 database, or you open the list in Datasheet view on the SharePoint site.
  • You try to change some values in the list.
In this scenario, the values are not updated. Additionally, you receive the following error message:

An unexpected error has occurred.

Resolution

Hotfix information

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
