INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add a distribution list as an attendee in an email message in Outlook 2010, and then you send the email message.
    • You close Outlook 2010, and then you restart Outlook 2010.
    • You create a new email message, and then you type the first characters of the name of one of the members in the distribution list in the To or Cc field.
In this scenario, the Autocomplete feature displays no suggestions for the name that you type.
  • When you use code to process a .pst file, you receive a MAPI_E_CORRUPT_STORE error code. However, the .pst file is not corrupted.
  • When you receive a meeting response from someone outside your organization who is in a different time zone, the time zone that is shown in the meeting response is displayed incorrectly.
  • After you receive a [80004005-501-4B9-560] synchronization error message in the Organizational Forms folder in Outlook 2010, the synchronization status in Outlook 2010 is displayed as This folder is up to date and no longer changes to All folders are up to date. The Organizational Forms folder contains only metadata and should not affect the up-to-date status of the mailbox.
  • When you receive an email message that is forwarded automatically by using an IMPA4 email account in Outlook 2010, the body of the message is blank.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You use an email account that is in online mode in Outlook 2010.
    • While you compose an email message, the network is disabled, and then the network is re-enabled.
    • You send the email message.
In this scenario, the email message that you sent is received as a blank email message.

Note After you apply this hotfix, you can send an email message without an attachment correctly in this scenario. However, if you try to send an email message that has an attachment, you receive the following error message:
Changes made to the item were lost due to a reconnect with the server
In this situation, you must create a new email message.
  • Assume that you set the time zone to UTC+9:00 Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo on a computer that has the Japanese version of Windows XP installed, and then you create a new appointment in the Japanese version of Outlook 2010. In this situation, the time information in the appointment uses the Seoul or Irkutsk time zone.
  • When you use an email account that contains a period (.) in the alias, and you have the Always prompt for logon credentials option enabled in Outlook 2010, the Windows Security dialog box does not display the domain information.
  • Assume that you change the display name of a .pst file in a profile in Outlook 2010 to a name that is different to the file name. If you remove the .pst file from the profile and then re-add the .pst file to the profile, the display name of the profile is changed to the .pst file name.
  • When you use MAPI-MIME Conversion API to convert a MAPI message to a MIME message, the MAPI message content is changed.
  • When you use QuickStep to forward a Digital Rights Management (DRM) email message, the headers in the email message (for example, From, To, and Subject) are not displayed.
  • Assume that you have an Exchange email account that is in online mode in Outlook 2010. When the Exchange server is disconnected, and you try to open a public folder, Outlook 2010 tries continuously to connect to another server.
  • When you receive an email message that contains some Korean characters in Outlook 2010 from an Apple iOS device, the text in the email message is displayed incorrectly.
  • Autodiscover does not work as expected in Outlook 2010 when an email account has an email address that contains an ampersand (&).
  • After you create a folder for a shared mailbox in Outlook 2010, the folder is not displayed until Outlook 2010 is restarted.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a meeting request in Outlook 2010, and Outlook 2010 has a Form Region Add-in installed.
    • You send the meeting request to an attendee.
    • The attendee opens the meeting request and then sends a time change proposal to you.
    • You open the proposal, you click View All Proposal, and then you close the meeting request.
In this scenario, Outlook 2010 crashes.
  • Assume that you disable the Use Cached Exchange Mode for new and existing Outlook profiles option in the Office Customization Tool or in Group Policy. In this situation, when you create a new profile for a user, the profile uses Cached mode unexpectedly.
  • When you try to create a rule that involves a contact group in Outlook 2010, you receive the following message:
'name of the contact group' is a contact group that may not be used with this feature. Would you like to use the individual members of 'name of the contact group' instead?

Then, when you click No, Outlook 2010 crashes.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You share a mailbox with a user who has a profile that uses Cached mode in Outlook 2010.
    • The user creates an email message and saves it as a draft.
    • The user moves the draft to the shared mailbox.
    • You send the draft.
In this scenario, the email message remains in the Outbox of the shared mailbox and is not sent. Additionally, the email message is displayed unexpectedly in the Sent Items folder.
  • 2597991 An email message body contains text that is added from previously opened email messages when you access a mailbox by using an IMAP4 client in Outlook 2010
