INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • After you install a custom Cryptographic Service Provider (CSP) on a computer that is running Windows XP, you cannot encrypt Office Open XML (OOXML) files or open existing encrypted OOXML files in Office 2010.
  • Excel 2010 stops responding when you open and close many Excel workbooks.
  • When you try to set Restricted permissions for an Office 2010 document in an Active Directory Rights Management Services (AD RMS) environment, you receive the following error message:
    An unexpected error has occurred while trying to restrict permission to your document.
    This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • You apply the hotfix that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base article 2584066 to the computer.
    • The text ":443" appears in the URL of the service connection point (SCP) for AD RMS.
  • 2596960 No prompt for credentials when you start Outlook 2010 as an initial application in RDP or as a published application in Citrix Zen
