INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • You have an Excel workbook that contains a sparkline or a slicer. You open the workbook in Excel 2010, and then you save the workbook as a .pdf file. In this case, the tag of the sparkline or the slicer is generated as <Span> incorrectly.

Note The tag of the sparkline or the slicer should be generated as <Figure> or <Diagram>.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You open an Excel workbook that has a Combo Box form control or a List Box form control in Excel 2010. You use a macro to define a change method in the Combo Box form control or in the List Box form control in Macro.
    • You click to select the item in the Combo Box form control or in the List Box form control that is selected by default.
In this scenario, the change method is called incorrectly.

Note This issue does not occur in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 and Microsoft Office Excel 2003.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You open an Excel workbook in Excel 2010 that has a Visual Studio Tools for Office (VSTO) application installed.
    • The VSTO application uses the FreezePanes property to freeze a pane in the worksheet.
    • You use the VSTO application to add a button close to the pane. When you click the button, a message box appears.
    • You scroll down the worksheet so that the button is no longer displayed.
    • You scroll up the worksheet.
In this scenario, the button disappears.
  • Assume that you apply border settings to cells in a worksheet in Excel 2010. When you try to change the settings of the inner borders, the new border settings cannot be applied.
  • When you use the vbCrLf field for the text of a Form control in Excel 2010, an additional line is displayed. For example, you run the following macro in Excel 2010:

    Sub Change_Caption()
    ThisWorkbook.Worksheets(1).Shapes("Button 1").Select
    Selection.Characters.Text = "aaa" & vbCrLf & "bbb"
    End Sub
In this example, the following text is displayed:
    aaa

    bbb
  • When you try to insert an Excel spreadsheet in Word, PowerPoint, or another application, you receive the following error message:

The program used to create this object is Excel. That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding. To edit this object, install Excel or ensure that any dialog boxes in Excel are closed.
This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
    • You configure Excel 2010 to open all the files in a specified network folder when Excel 2010 starts.
    • There is an .xslt file in the specified network folder.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You insert a block arrow that points to the right side of the screen in an Excel 2003 workbook.
    • You set the rotation of the arrow to 45, 135, 225, or 315 degree. Then, you flip the arrow vertically or horizontally.
    • You save the workbook in Excel 2003.
    • You open the workbook in Excel 2010.In this scenario, the arrow is displayed in a different way to the way that it is displayed in Excel 2003.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • In Excel 2010, you save an Excel workbook as an Excel template (*.xltx) in the default template folder.
    • You use the template to create a new Excel workbook.
In this scenario, the file name extension of the Excel workbook is .xltx1. Additionally, if you send the workbook by using the Send as Attachment feature, the attachment cannot be opened in Excel.
  • Assume that you have a text box that contains some Double-Byte Character Set (DBCS) text in an Excel workbook that has an .xls file name extension. You save the workbook in Excel 2010. However, if you then open the workbook in Excel 2003, some text formatting is lost.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have shared formulas and conditional formats in an Excel 2010 worksheet.
    • You select the Manual option from the Calculation Options menu on the Formulas tab.
    • You perform the initial calculation in the worksheet.
In this scenario, some cells may not be calculated again after the initial calculation.
  • 2596575  ActiveX control is changed after you print preview, print, or save a workbook in Excel 2010
