INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Assume that you update the value of a property in a SharePoint Server 2010 site collection user profile. However, when you synchronize user profiles from the site collection by using Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), the dbo.profile_UpdateUserProfileData stored procedure doesn’t handle a null value correctly. Therefore, the property value of the user profile in the AD DS is not consistent with the value on the site collection.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You enable the ratings settings for a SharePoint Server 2010 list.
    • You add a list item to the list. The name of the item contains an ampersand character (&).
    • You rate the list item.
    • You refresh the SharePoint webpage that contains the list.
In this scenario, the list item is not displayed with the star ratings.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You apply the hotfix 2598151.
    • You add a lookup column to a document set content type in SharePoint Server 2010. The column allows for multiple values.
    • You use the document set content type to create a document library.
    • You share the column with documents in a document set.
    • You create a document set in the document library.
    • You select multiple values for the lookup column.
    • You upload some documents to the document set.
In this scenario, only one value in the lookup column is displayed for each document. Additionally, after you edit and save the properties of the document set, all values in the lookup column are displayed.

2598151 Description of the SharePoint Server 2010 cumulative update package (SharePoint server-package): April 24, 2012

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You configure a website to use the User Profile Service Application in SharePoint Server 2010.
    • You stop the User Profile Service Application.
    • You restart Internet Information Services (IIS) and refresh the website.
In this scenario, the website does not load successfully, and you receive an error message.
  • Assume that you update a custom user property value in your user profile. However, when you use the User Profile Web Service to query the updated property value, the value is not returned. This issue occurs when the default term store language in SharePoint Server 2010 is a language other than English.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You upload a user profile picture in SharePoint Server 2010.
    • You edit the user profile and delete the picture.
    • You start an incremental synchronization of user profiles from SharePoint Server to an AD DS.
In this scenario, the following error message is generated in Event Viewer:
MOSS_DELTAIMPORT was not processed. Server Error occurred.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You restore a site collection that has a document library in SharePoint Server 2010.
    • The document library contains a document that uses a term from a term store.
    • You reschedule the Change Log timer job.
    • You try to change the term in the term store.
    • You run the Change Log timer job.
    • You enable and run the Taxonomy Update Scheduler timer job.
In this scenario, the Taxonomy Update Scheduler timer job does not work and the term in the term store does not change.
  • If two site collections have similar site names, you cannot add a navigation link to one site collection to the other site collection.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a webpage at the root of a site collection in SharePoint Server 2010.
    • You add a tag cloud Web Part to the webpage.
    • You edit the Web Part and then select the Under the current URL by all users option under the Show Tags group.
    • You add tags to the Web Part.
    • You run the Social Data Maintenance job and then refresh the webpage.
In this scenario, the tags are not added to the Web Part as expected.
  • Assume that you create a document in a document library on a SharePoint Server 2010 site. Therefore, your user profile name is displayed as the author of the document. Then, you search the document on the site. In this situation, the author is not displayed correctly in the search results.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You access a site collection as an anonymous user.
    • Then, yousite collection contains a Content Query Web Part that links to a calendar list.
    • You click a calendar item in the Content Query Web Part.
In this scenario, you cannot access the calendar item in the Content Query web part. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
    401 Unauthorized access
