INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

You may experience the following issues in Microsoft Fast Search Server 2010:
  • The ConfigServer is not available when a QRServer connects to the ConfigServer while a schema update occurs. In this situation, the schema update does not connect to the QRServer.
  • You cannot use the backup function or the restore function by using SQL Server authentication in a SQL server. Additionally, when you try to use the backup function, you receive the following error message:
Exception calling "SqlBackup" with "1" argument(s): "Backup failed for Server 'servername\sqlinstance. "
    At C:\FASTSearch\bin\backup.ps1:487 char:22
    + $backup.SqlBackup <<<< ($server)
    + CategoryInfo : NotSpecified: (:) [], ParentContainsErrorRecordException
    + FullyQualifiedErrorId : DotNetMethodException
Note After you apply this hotfix package, the backup script or the restore script should be executed together with the -sqluser parameter and the -sqlpasswordfileparameter when SQL Authentication mode is configured.

For example, you can use the backup function by using the following command:
\backup.ps1 -action config -backuppath backup_path -sqluser sqlusername -sqlpasswordfile password_file_path
