INTRODUCTION

Issues that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a Pivot Table that contains a report filter in Microsoft Excel 2010, and then you create it based on an OLAP cube data source.
    • You are granted read permission to access specific data in the OLAP cube.
    • You try to open the report filter to change the filter criteria on the Pivot Table. The filter criteria was previously set to show the data for which you have no access permission.

In this scenario, you cannot open the report filter dialog box. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
    Operation canceled by user.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You apply the hotfix package that is described in Microsoft Knowledge Base (KB) article 2459118 to Excel 2010.
    • You insert a text box that contains no characters into an Excel 2003 workbook, and then you center the vertical alignment of the text box.
    • You open the workbook in Excel 2010, and then you save the workbook.
    • You open the workbook in Excel 2003.

In this scenario, the vertical alignment setting is not saved.
  • Consider the following scenario. You type a long sentence that overflows a cell in an Excel 2010 workbook. Then, you click the Justify option for the cell. And then, you click the Cancel button in the dialog box. In this scenario, Excel 2010 may crash.

Note The Justify option is located in the Home tab, under Editing\Fill\Justify.
  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You add an active ActiveX control to an Excel 2010 workbook.
    • You add the BeforeClose event handler to the Excel 2010 workbook.
    • You click the ActiveX control button in the Excel 2010 workbook.
    • You try to exit Excel 2010.

In this scenario, you receive the following error message that uses any method of the Range object:
Run-time error ‘424’ occurs: Object Required
  • You create a user-defined function in Excel 2010. The user-defined function uses the Excel4 function of the XLL API to obtain the name of the sheet where the current evaluating formula is located in. However, Excel returns the active sheet incorrectly instead of the sheet that has the evaluating formula.
  • 2503335 An ActiveX control does not reappear as expected in an Excel 2010 workbook when you unhide the columns that include the control
  • 2496265 The position of a third-party ActiveX control changes when you toggle the visibility of the control in Excel 2010
