Issue that this hotfix package fixes

Consider the following scenario:

In Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, the Microsoft Office Online cache contains many folders.
Each of these folders contains many subfolders.
The Office Online Expiration Timer job is configured to delete expired folders from the Office Online cache.

In this scenario, the Office Online Expiration Timer job deletes the expired folders before it deletes the subfolders that the expired folders contain. This causes SQL server blocking.

A supported hotfix is available from Microsoft. However, this hotfix is intended to correct only the problem that is described in this article. Apply this hotfix only to systems that are experiencing the problem described in this article. This hotfix might receive additional testing.
