The Exchange Information Store service crashes frequently during a public folder replication process on an Exchange Server 2010 public folder

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • You have a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 server that has a public folder store installed in an Exchange organization.  
  • There are also other Exchange servers that have public folder stores installed in the same Exchange organization.
  • You configure public folder replication between the public folders.
In this scenario, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service (Store.exe) crashes frequently. Therefore, users cannot connect to their mailboxes, and mail delivery is also affected. Additionally, the following events are logged in the System log and in the Application log:

Cause

This issue occurs because of an incorrect logic when the the Store.exe process saves a public folder replication message.

Resolution

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
