INTRODUCTION

Microsoft has released an update for Microsoft Office Outlook 2007. This update provides the latest fixes to Office Outlook 2007. Additionally, this update contains stability and performance improvements.

Known issues

If you installed the original version released on December 14, 2010 of this update, you may see performance degradation when you switch folders in Outlook. The resolution for this issue is to install a newer version of the update released on January 11, 2011 in the Resolution section.

To determine the version of the files (such as Outlook.exe) that are installed on the computer, follow these steps, as appropriate for the operating system that you are running.

Windows 7

  1. Click Start, and then click Computer.
  2. In the Search Computer box, type Outlook.exe, and then press ENTER.
  3. Right-click Outlook.exe, and then click Properties.
  4. On the Details tab, note the file version of the Outlook.exe file that is installed on the computer.

Windows Vista

  1. Click StartStart Button , and then click Search.
  2. Click Advanced Search.
  3. In the Location box, click Local Hard Drives.
  4. In the Name box, type
    Outlook.exe, and then click
    Search.
  5. In the list of files, right-click
    Outlook.exe, and then click
    Properties.
  6. On the Details tab, note the file version of the Outlook.exe file that is installed on the computer.

Windows XP

  1. Start Search Companion. To do this, click
    Start, and then click Search.

    Note If Windows Desktop Search starts, click Click here to use Search Companion.
  2. In the Search Results window, click All files and folders in the Search Companion pane.
  3. In the All or part of the file name box, type Outlook.exe, and then click
    Search.
  4. In the list of files, right-click
    Outlook.exe, and then click
    Properties.
  5. On the Version tab, note the file version of the Outlook.exe file that is installed on the computer.

How to uninstall this update


  1. Click Start, and then click Run.
  2. Type appwiz.cpl, and then click OK.
  3. Use one of the following procedures, depending on the operating system that you are running:
    • Windows 7 and Windows Vista
      1. Click View installed updates.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2412171, and then click Uninstall.
    • Windows XP
      1. Click to select the Show updates check box.
      2. In the list of updates, locate and click update 2412171, and then click Remove.
