The subject of an item is deleted when you use the "UploadItems" operation together with the "Update" action or the "UpdateOrCreate" action in an Exchange Server 2010 environment

Symptoms

Consider the following scenario:
  • In a Microsoft Exchange Server 2010 environment, you have an item in a mailbox that contains a subject.
  • You use Exchange Web Services to update the item by using the UploadItems operation together with the Update action or the UpdateOrCreate action.
  • The data that the UploadItems operation uses contains the subject of the item.
In this scenario, the subject is unexpectedly deleted from the item after the UploadItems operation is complete.


Note If you use the UploadItems operation again, the subject is updated successfully.

To resolve this issue, install the following update rollup:
