INTRODUCTION

Issue that this hotfix package fixes

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a mailbox that is located on a Microsoft Exchange 2003 mailbox server.
    • You try to create a new profile in Microsoft Outlook 2010 by using the Auto Account Setup process.
    In this scenario, you receive the following error message:

    An unknown error occurred, error code: 0x80070057

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You create a COM add-in in Outlook 2010.
    • The add-in that you create hosts a MAPI form.
    • The MAPI form handles a Reply verb, a ReplyAll verb, or a Forward verb.
    • You run the add-in.

    In this scenario, Outlook 2010 crashes.


  • Assume that you try to create a new profile in Outlook 2010. The domain name of the email address that you use begins with “live.” In this scenario, you receive the following message unexpectedly:

    In order to manage this account in Outlook you must download and install Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector. Do you want to download and install Microsoft Outlook Hotmail Connector now?

  • Outlook 2010 crashes when you perform a manual update of Internet free/busy information.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You have a recurring appointment or a recurring meeting that is located in a public folder calendar in Exchange Server 2003.
    • You try to perform one of the following operations in Outlook 2010:
      • Delete an instance of the recurring appointment. To do this, you use a shortcut menu or you use the Delete button on the ribbon.
      • Delete an instance of the recurring meeting. To do this, you use a shortcut menu or you use the Cancel Meeting button on the ribbon.
    In this scenario, the recurring appointment series or the recurring meeting series are deleted.

  • You notice that the reminder window in Outlook 2010 opens constantly.

  • Consider the following scenario:
    • You configure the Specify path to Safe Senders list policy for Outlook 2010. The file that you specified for this policy is located on a network share.
    • You set the DWORD value of the Junkmailimportlists registry entry to 1.
      Note The Junkmailimportlists registry entry is located in the following path:

      HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/Policies/Microsoft/Office/14.0/Outlook/Options/Mail
    In this scenario, Outlook 2010 crashes shortly after startup.


  • You can now disable the Export button that is located in the Advanced tab in the Outlook Options dialog box in Outlook 2010.

  • When you use Outlook 2010 in online mode, the folder list becomes unsorted frequently, and the folder locations change randomly.
